Kiss or Kill Lock-In

We've always thrown around the idea of doing a Kiss or Kill lock in but didn't know one would go down quite like this.

Because many of you keep asking what happened last Wednesday and why you couldn't get in after 10:30 and because we've heard a couple of inaccurate tales being told
Here you go:
This past Wednesday during Kiss or Kill at Safari Sam's there was an unfortunate incident. None of it was Kiss or Kill related and to our knowledge noone in attendance of our weekly show was involved.
We were two bands into the night nearing the end of EKUK's performance when shots were fired in the Safari Sam's parking lot near the 99cents Store. Thankfully noone at Safari Sam's nor in the parking lot were hurt but the shooter's target didn't have such luck and was pronounced dead on the scene. From about 11 pm to 3 am noone that was parked in the parking lot was allowed to go to their vehicles nor move their vehicles no matter how important the reason. At first it was a little chaotic as we were ushered inside, then outside, and then back inside. We thank everyone for their cooperation and we were with you on being irritated with the lack of information that the LAPD and Investigators were providing and at times lack of efficiency when issuing requests/orders (although we do thank them for their prompt arrival and attempting to make the situation as bearable as possible.) Although we know no specific information on the shooting itself, and the person shot it was not anything typical of that area and was certainly not affilitated with Kiss or Kill nor Safari Sam's in any manner.
We were given a few chances throughout the night to leave Safari Sam's either by Taxi, rides from other people not parked in the club, or by foot we appreciate how cooperative everyone was even though they were not allowed to take their vehicles until well after 3 am. We would also like to thank Safari Sam's for helping to keep everyone in a jovial mood despite the night's happenings by setting the drink prices at half off and offering coffee and water. We would also like to thank the bands who played that night: The Beautiful and Damned, Death of a Dancer, EKUK, The Mulhollands, and Casxio. A special thanks to the Mulhollands and their fill in drummer (who learned their new songs in under an hour) for still stepping up and playing their slot when their drummer for the night left early on. This was supposed to be their CD Release Party and unfortunately their fans were not allowed in the club as was the case for the final two bands. Because of this incident we have added The Mulhollands to this Wednesdays (April 2nd) line-up to re-attempt the CD Release Party.
A special thanks to TK from Indie 103.1 for his support!
Thank you as well to those who actually witnessed anything and stepped forward to assist the detectives with any information they had and thank you to everyone for acting civilized and being so proactive and helpful during the situation.
